Experiment #1

1. Showing you I made the purchase!
2. The fresh "golden all white meat" chicken nugget....
3. Fresh fries and nuggets
5. The Happy Meal!!

I've chosen to start with the Mcdonalds "Happy Meal." I'm not positive as to why they call it "Happy Meal?" Is is because the free toy was a dragon or is it because, the small fry and 4 piece chicken nugget contain 560 mg sodium? Hmmmm...

Nutition Facts:

4 piece Chicken Nugget: Sodium: 400 Fat: 12 Calories: 190 Carbs: 11
Small Fry: Sodium: 160 Fat:11 Calories: 230 Carbs: 29
Total: Sodium: 560 Fat: 23 Calories: 420 Carbs: 40

I didn't get a drink, but lets just say I got a low fat white milk jug. This now brings the total to

Sodium: 685 Fat: 25.5 Calories: 520 Carbs: 52

A toddler 2-3 years in age, should only be getting 1000mg of sodium a day. So, after this meal it leaves 315 mgs of sodium for 2 more meals, not including snacks!

Now onto the preservatives and additives.....wow...! The fries and nuggets will be placed in an airtight container. I will leave it for a week and document with pictures to see what happens to it. Some people think that like healthy/fresh food, it will rot or decay. Do you think so? Lets find out!
In the coming weeks, I will compare other fast food to fresh organic food. I'm also working on the costs of fast food vs homemade.
Check back daily!
